AKFA Holding Joins the Syrian-German Business Council

AKFA Holding has become an official member of the Syrian-German Business Council (SGBC), the mandated institutional platform connecting businesses and investment opportunities between Syria and Germany. The membership marks a further step in AKFA’s strategic engagement with Syria’s emerging economic landscape, complementing the Group’s existing joint venture with White Room Holding Group.

The Syrian-German Business Council was established to create a structured environment for bilateral economic cooperation, bringing together more than 50 members across industries that include energy, infrastructure, digital services, and education. The Council works closely with institutions such as the German Federal Ministry of Economics, GIZ, KfW Development Bank, and the Syrian Chamber of Commerce, giving its members access to both markets at the highest level of institutional engagement.

Mr. M. Zekeriya Akgad, Founder and Chairman of AKFA Holding

As part of the membership, M. Zekeriya Akgad, Founder and Chairman of AKFA Holding, has been appointed as an Executive Member of the Council. This role places him among the senior figures shaping the Council’s direction and agenda, reflecting the confidence the Council places in AKFA’s regional standing and its track record in cross-border investment.

AKFA Holding’s interest in Syria is rooted in a clear conviction: that the country’s reconstruction represents one of the most consequential economic opportunities of the decade, and that engaging with it responsibly requires the right institutional partners. The SGBC provides exactly that framework, and AKFA looks forward to contributing to its mission of turning dialogue into tangible economic results for both countries.
